Jesse Sublett
Jesse Sublett has been an Austin institution since his band, THE SKUNKS, put Austin on the rock n roll map in 1978 at Raul's, spearheading the punk/new wave/new music movement here. As both a neck-snapping bassist and quirky/sardonic songwriter and singer, Jesse has influenced oodles of musicians and bands. Currently he reunites The Skunks once or twice a year and plays solo on upright acoustic bass and six string guitar, playing his trademark ballads of noir babes & no-hope heroes. He's been all over the US, he's a critically acclaimed mystery novelist and playwright, he's funny, he's wicked, he's really something else.
